Being the larger sized brooder in the Brinsea range, the EcoGlow Safety 2000 (50 chick) brooder can cater easily for up to 50 day old standard sized baby chickens. Equally important is the savings to your hip pocket, as they only use an amazing 50 watts of power – substantially less than conventional reptile or ceramic heat globes. Given that brooders need to be on all day, everyday, the savings on your electricity bills are huge!
The legs are fully height adjustable and with a heat pad which is safe for human touch you don’t need to worry about your fluffy, little babies getting cold. They can huddle up underneath without getting burnt (unlike other brands on the market) and they will move under or away as their needs dictate. To reassure you that the heat pad is working, a glowing indicator light confirms the brooder is connected.
To be most effective, it should be kept out of draughts (much like us when we go to the MCG). At our place, we put an old towel over the top of our rabbit cages…
Measures 51cm wide x 41cm deep. This diagram gives you a good idea of how large it is (the coloured paper are all A4 size)… Take a few centimetres off the end though, to allow for the cord/plug in the box. It’s still pretty big though…
INCLUDED IN THE BOX

SAFETY & POWER USAGE
After hearing about so many house fires caused by inferior equipment, the Brinsea EcoGlow Safety Chick brooder range are the only brooders we trust both for ourselves, and in previous years, for our Home and School hatching programs. Don’t settle for anything but the best… see our Cheap Equipment Warning page for more information.
All Brinsea products (including the EcoGlow Safety Chick brooders) are made in the UK with 240v Australian plugs as standard. No adaptor is needed for use in Australia.

FREIGHT AND DISPATCH TIMES
Most orders are dispatched within 24 hours after the order has been processed through our website (unless you are in Melbourne and opt for local pickup – by arrangement only). We use Australia Post to ensure the best coverage Australia wide and all orders will receive a tracking number via email when it has been dispatched.
No need to check if we send to your area… if Australia Post deliver there, we can send it there! 🙂
REFUNDS AND RESTOCKING FEES
Refunds WILL be honoured on ‘change of mind’ items as per Consumer Law, as long as the items have not been dispatched to the customer. This is obviously as once it leaves our hands the items cannot be easily brought back to our possession without further costs being incurred.
Items that have been dispatched or picked up by couriers from Suburban Chooks will need to be returned to us (at the cost of the purchaser) before refunds will be returned. We also require tracking information for returned items to be forwarded to us, just as we provide tracking information to you when we send items out.
Customers who request a refund will be refunded their full amount MINUS a 20% restocking fee. Given that we are honouring change of mind items (which a lot of businesses don’t) we hope you are understanding of this matter.
By law, refunds can only be given using the same method that payment was made. To clarify, if you pay via Paypal, your refund will be made via Paypal. It is illegal for us to refund in any other way.
